Parution dans Visual Cognition de l'article : "Natural scene statistics mediate the perception of image complexity"

L'article de Nicolas Gauvrit, Fernando Soler-Toscano et Hector Zenil, intitulé "Natural scene statistics mediate the perception of image complexity", vient d'être accepté pour être publié dans la revue Visual Cognition

Abstract :

Humans are efficient at detecting visual complexity: when they assess the complexity of an image (actually a 4x4 pattern), their rating is correlated to the algorithmic complexity of the image. In this paper, we show that this ability is mediated by the probability that such matrix appears in real world scenes.
